Abolitionist

The common age a child enters the commercial sex trade is 14-16 [sharedhope.org]. As many as 300,000 children are at risk for sexual exploitation in the U.S. [ncjrs.gov]. Currently, only 1,644 beds are available for survivors of human trafficking [ccasa.org]. The Hundred Movement is a 501(c)3 non-profit and was born out of a vision to rescue and restore one hundred women and children from the U.S. sex trade. Based in Asheville, NC, The Hundred Movement takes a multi-faceted approach to fighting human trafficking and caring for victims. We believe the Church is the cornerstone of these efforts; the exit from slavery and the entrance to abundant life. I am being trained by the Hundred Movement in learning the systems that are involved with aftercare for victims of sex trafficking, and my family and I are directly involved with the team and church community in Asheville that is keeping our first survivor safe and healthy for years to come. After my training, I will assist in developing best practices, building resources, and recruiting other churches to take on the same model.
