Pastor of Mission and Outreach

We've been living in Kent, and specifically focused on the campus of Kent State University, since 2012, working in partnership with Reliant. We are joined with H2O Kent and the broader H2O Network throughout Ohio (and the still-broader Collegiate Church Network) to reach out to the younger generations who are increasingly interested-yet-uninitiated in their spiritual journey. Our ministry efforts are focused on making disciples, training leaders, and sending out missionaries. Prior to our move to Kent, we spent nearly ten years in the Netherlands working together with an international team of young people to establish a church, named Amsterdam50, in the heart of old Amsterdam. As we started to see European leaders stepping up to carry on the work in Amsterdam, we decided to return to Ohio to share stories, cast vision, and encourage others to consider replicating the experience that we had in Amsterdam. As crazy as it sounds, we believe that church-planters from Midwestern college towns may be the ideal candidates for missions in the context of northern-European metropolises. In both Europe and Ohio, we continue to see God work in extraordinary ways.
